Print ads can still be a very powerful medium for getting your message across. I spent a recent afternoon wandering around the world wide web and, by accident, stumbled upon a very creative advertisement from Panasonic. As an individual who has grown up in the technology era, and has seen the recent shift from print advertising to digital media, I found myself laughing out loud at this creative form of advertising. In these days of digital media such as viral videos, it’s easy to overlook the art of print ads but it’s as relevant and powerful as vintage posters ever were, whether small scale magazine ads or massive pieces of billboard advertising. When you consider the amount of time people spend fully engaged with their mobile devices, it’s no surprise that companies will continue to focus on digital media advertising. However, the next time you find yourself needing to get your message across, remember your favorite billboard or magazine cover, and consider how something as simple as a picture managed to grab your attention and get its message across.
